What is it?

The ray tracing engine is a piece of software written in Java that allows a user or another piece of Java software to produce realistic 3d images.

What is a ray tracer?

A ray tracer is one of many methods for producing realistic images. It is one of the most powerful methods, but probably the all time slowest. You can see some sample images in the images section.
